Hello, friend
About Joanna
Follower of Jesus. Wife, mom, and grandma. Singer, songwriter, and writer. A woman learning, one ordinary day at a time, what it means to live life full.
Years ago I began writing a little newsletter for women called Be You Christ Full. The name came from a play on the word beautiful: real beauty is being you, Christ full. Each issue carried a lesson God had taught me somewhere ordinary... squeegeeing the shower walls, a morning run through Celebration, a bag of Christmas gifts left on the front porch.
Those newsletters grew out of a mission I still hold: to encourage women to realize their true beauty, worth, and strengths while kindling their passion to live life to its fullest in a dynamic relationship with our living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The writings on this site began there, and new ones are still being written.
Along the way, music became another way of listening. I'm a singer and songwriter, and some of what God teaches me arrives first as a melody before it ever becomes words on a page. Those melodies are finding their way, one at a time, to the songs page.
Steve and me
My husband Steve and I have walked a long road together: Ohio to Florida, plenty on the table and nowhere near enough, mountaintops and valleys. He is my first proofreader (the one who wrote “check for Biblical accuracy” in the margin and started a whole newsletter issue), the painter of the family, and my favorite traveling companion. You can find his corner of the internet at stevendmikel.com.
Looking ahead, as time and seasons allow, I'll be offering gentle, faith-rooted movement and wellness through TIYOFI, where this same heart will carry into the body: unhurried, prayerful, and alive. The site is there today as a first look at what's coming, eventually...
